Horizons Balloon Lands In Disney Studios Backlot

Over the years many retired props have left EPCOT. They are sold through resellers and even Ebay but every now and then one shows up somewhere else on the Disney World properties. While waiting in line in the “prop warehouse” que for Catastrophy Canyon at Disney MGM… “Hollywood” Studios I noticed the basket of the hot air baloon from Horizons in the dark upper recesses of the storage area. The Frenchman in the basket who I believe was supposed to be the first pilot, scientist Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier, has been stripped of his fancy clothing and his outstretched arm looks like he’s trying to get our attention.
